Kids Tri 2 - Who & What We Are
Kids Tri 2 was created in 2006 by head coach, Koren
Kuna, who watched kids become less active in outdoor
activities. As a preschool special education teacher
in Clermont, Florida, she decided to get her classes
involved in triathlon - a sport she has successfully
competed since 1997. Instead of an end of the year
party, the preschool children did a mini-triathlon and
the tradition continued until Koren left teaching in
2004. Now working within the sport of triathlon
(event management, sales, and coaching), Koren sees
how important it is to get kids involved, not only for
the growth of triathlon but for the well-being of
today's children. Children who participate in an
active lifestyle are healthier and happier. In May of
2006, Coach Koren was on a long bike ride (or out in
her office) and Kids Tri 2 was born! Kids Tri 2 is
excited to continue the tradition of educating kids in
proper nutrition, safety and the wonderful sports of
triathlon!
